This basket is made of hand pounded Ash, it has two bent hazel hoops handles, meaning it sits nicely on it’s four feet, and the base of the basket in off the ground.

It is made taking the inspiration from traditional Swedish baskets, using British materials.

Made using British Ash, with a technique called ‘Ash pounding’, with a Hazel hoop, tied together with a piece of willow. The Ash splints have been processed straight from the log, and thinned down with a knife (you can see more about the process on my Instagram)

The lightweight nature of Ash makes this basket very useable, light in weight, with a loosely woven base.
